Cheap Rail Tickets??

Hi All -
I have to travel to Stoke on trent from Thirsk on May 13th (return) and have been told its going to be £50.14 :eek: ! My God! I've asked both my local travel agent and rung National rail enquiries but they both say theres no concession/offers/early bookings etc. Does any wonderfully kind and clever person know how I can reduce this??? Its a hellish amount of money of me to spend on train tickets!

    Stoke-on-Trent to Manchester Piccadilly £10.00 cheap day return.

    Manchester Piccadilly to Thirsk £10.00 single.

    Thirsk to Manchester Piccadilly £10.00 single.

    Total = £30.00.

    Or, if the cheap singles aren't available for the trains you want, the Manchester to Thirsk cheap day return is £29.

    Hi Nicki-Sue.

    Where there is a journey over two or more operators, always look for prices for the separate parts. That way you can use the individual companies' specials.
