batch cooking and freezer space

Hi,
I'm currently re-designing my kitchen as the old one is falling apart. At the moment I've got seperate fridge and freezer and I was looking at getting a tall freezer to store all my batch cooked meals and bread in - however I think I'm going to have to get a fridge-freezer to make room for cupboards (kitchen's only small)
Can find massive fridges however the biggest freezer I can find only has 4 drawers and I don't think that's going to be enough
Just a question to all those that batch cook - how big is your freezer?

i actually have 2 fridge freezers in my kitchen as i have a very small kitchen i put it in the larder that was never used however have you thought about buying a larder style freezer and keeping your seperate fridge this way you would only lose a single cupboard0

I also have two freezers. One fridge-freezer and a waist height freezer on it's own. My MIL use to keep her spare fridge freezer in the shed.Official DFW Member 716 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0

Hi kate83,
I have an upright Beko freezer with 5 drawers & an LG fridge freezer (freezer compartment has 3 drawers).
I had a new kitchen installed last week. I built my upright freezer into the cupboards, freestanding, but boxed in with a big deep cupboard above it.
I think it looks well and I'm happy as I didn't have to give up any precious freezer space.0 -
I have an oldish chest-high freezer and an under counter one which came with the new kitchen 2 yrs ago. The freezer has 2 open shelves for freezing and 3 baskets and I can get loads in it. I usually make up meals like shepherds pie rather than freezing the base and then adding potatoes The small freezer is not as useful for the meal so it does probably take up more room than freezing the meat in meal portions.
The small freezer is not as useful. The previous fridge freezer had just 2 shelves, but the contents filled the new 3 drawer freezer! Of course I need another cupboard to store the dishes in as they become empty before the next batch cook.0 -
i have a seperate fridge and freezer as i have a very small kitchen their is only room for the fridge, a tall fridge freezer is out of the question as the boiler is on the wall that the fridge goes against. my freezer is in the cupboard under the stairs! i would like more freezer space but just dont have anywhere for it to go.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness.
