CCA they wont sign for the letter

I sent off a CCA request on Monday. Today I've had a letter from them saying how they've tried to contact me but I haven't written back and that they'll be sending someone round (I know they've got no powers, so I'm not worried). I checked online and the recorded delivery letter hasn't been signed for. What can I do now? If they wont sign for the letter how can I request a CCA?

Ironically it's for my smallest debt, and I should be able to make a f&f in a few months, but I want them off my back until then.

It can take a few days for the post office to get the information on-line. is there a contact number to chase it up?

    Hi Ames,
I agree with RAS but also the letter you've received might in itself be an indication that they've had your letter. Just keep checking with the post office as it sometimes can take a while for them to put it online. Start your 12+2 countdown from whatever date that the letter was signed for when it does come on.

When you send the CCA Request, write on the top....."Payment Enclosed". you will never have that problem again as the numpties always sign then.

  • Special delivery by ONE signed for can be seen most times by three the same day registered post (The orange slips) can take five working days after its signed for, given the quality of UK post allow two working days for a first class letter to arrive and five for second, then another five days for the post office to input the info, yousometimes find with the orange slips they do not show up if you do A CHECK ON LINE but if you telephone the number on the back of the slip they do confirm delivery

    are you checking here ? http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm ?

Yeah I'm checking online, if it can take up to five working days I'll rest a bit easier. I should get it back though if they don't sign shouldn't I? I'll just resend saying payment enclosed, I'm sure that'll appeal to them, thanks for the tip!

you get them back quick if they wont take it, thats why you fill that little sticker in with your name and address when you post it

why not call if worried ? all you need to say have you the letter

If it's not up by monday I'll call Royal Mail, since I'll be out all day tomorrow. I don't want to call the DCA in case they don't have it yet and it warns them not to accept post from me! Thanks for the advice.

NEVER talk to a DCA onn the phone, even about the weather! Keep all contact in writing so that you have a record that can be used in evidence if need be
