How can I find out how much tax I should be paying?

I want to know how much Tax i should be paying as I think I'm currently paying to much :confused: and this is probably a silly question but do you get e new tax free allownace each year? :o Thank you

    Keep each tax year separate. Each has its own tax allowance and tax bands. This year of course tax rates have changed too.
    However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts

    Might I ask, what has NI got to do with it? I have got my head round the whole tax thing, and should be in for some nice refunds soon (do they pay interest from previous years?) But from my understanding, NI doesn't have any effect on Tax, and vice versa. Have I missed something completely?? How do they work NI out?

    check the direct.gov website which tells you how much % you pay of your salary as NI - depends which category/band you are in
