What does this letter mean?

Last week I wrote to a DCA offering token payments, as I'm disabled and on income support. Today I've got a letter saying:

We can confirm that we are taking no further action in this matter, and that our files are now closed.

Now, does this mean that they've given up and that's it, or have they sold it on to another DCA and are being polite telling me that they're no longer dealing with it? I guess I wont have to wait long before I find out it's the latter!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Whatever it means, they realsie that if they chase you through the courts they will only get £1 or£2 per month and it will cost a lot more than that to get the order.

it may also be that they know they do not have the required documents. So rest easy.

It was for about £1400. I can't quite believe that the letter means what it says and that I don't have to worry about it anymore, especially since I was offering to pay.

I think I would call (yes I know letters are better) but in this case a quick call play dumb say you dont understand the letter see what they say.

that said "taking no action" is just that if they where passing the case on or waiting to see if your postion changes they would say so

I think I'll leave it, I'm not keen on using the phone (I have bipolar) and besides I don't want to stir things up! Thanks for the replies, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't code for 'we're selling it on to someone nastier', but it doesn't seem that way. Not sure how I got so lucky though!
