dirty tricks by Halifax?
or maybe I am wrong.
I have written to the Halifax demanding pay-back of all default charges couple days ago, after they've threatened to close my account and pursue me for “money that I owe them” although hat money is a result of their unfair charges.
Today, I have been surprised to receive a letter from Debt Managers Ltd, on behalf of Thames Credit – Barclays bank Plc for debt of £1000 back in 1998 from my student days.
now, I am wondering what to do in relation to this matter and I am curious how did they got my address, unless it's from Halifax??!!!
I would very much appreciate any suggestion, since they want me to pay them money that I do not have, since I am on Jobseeker's allowance with my partner and she's the one who's getting it on my behalf.

So you admit it is your debt then? Which you appear to have been hiding from?"I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -
If the debt is from 1998, then it might be useful for you to read through this factsheet.
Link: Factsheet | Liability for Debts and the Limitation Act (England/Wales)
If you are at all in doubt whether that applies to your circumstances, then I would give National Debtline (the authors of that factsheet) a call on the freephone number that is listed in it. They have professional advisors who are very experienced in this area.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
