Eyelash sticking in eye

Over the last couple of days, I've noticed my eye irritating me and have worked out there are a couple of tiny eyelashes near my tear duct facing in towards me eye touching it.
Is it dangerous to just try and pluck them out? It sounds painful, but once it's done, my eye should be okay, shouldn't it?

I'd see my GP. Not giving any medical advice (obviously) but if my eyelash was rubbing like that then I would have damaged the surface of the eye already.
I know eyebrow hairs come out easily, but eyelids are very delicate.
