Not really, because the requirements for the 100% mortgage are so tight that the ordinary person will not be able to get it.

So as far as I am concerned the 100% mortgage is unattainable unless you are for instance a nerdy scientist on £100K per year with huge future earnings capabilities.

    So really they are gone.

As for the sponsor of the B&W mortgage they need to be youngish with a very large income. Show me one of those who has a kid needing a 100% mortgage. Like a needle in a haystack.

    Does 'Sponsor' really mean 'Guarantor'?

Strange that as its been widely publicised on here and in the press that 100% mortgages were extinct.

I for 1 thought they were.

Perhaps they have always remained like you said, but every thread you read on the mortgage/house price section of the forum FALSELY states that FTB's now need 5-10% deposits.

This is wrong, hence the purpose of this thread.

I couldn't agree more, in fact I'd go further. 125% mortgages are still available with 4.99% Interest rates no fees and 10 times Income! House prices will rise 10% this year, and Elvis will be found alive and selling cheese that's been found on the Moon.

    Are you happy now?
  • I got a quote from then told that they were going to be pulled soon.
Mortgage express had 100% going which doesn't require a sponsor.

    Not exactly.

With a gurantor mortgage, they dont actually have to go on as an applicant. With the B&W first start they have to be a named applicant on the mortgage. PLus the sponser MUST be a parent / step parent.
