LETS: Local exchange trading systems. Information pls

I am keen to get involved in one of these. I have googled for all I am worth during the last week and contacted four people via email who are supposed to be running schemes in South Devon. I thought I was on to a good thing as the Totnes Acorn gets mentioned a lot on google. But 3 delivery failed notices and no reply from the other.

The Lets link Uk wants payment (£5 http://www.letslinkuk.net) for information so I'm not sure its a bona fide site. It seems to me that it lists could be emailed at no cost. If they are a genuine organisation and I pay up and they send the contacts I already have.....or no contacts I shall be mad.

Please direct me to other threads on here if there are any but I could find any.

You could maybe contact your local library as they should be able to give you info on any local groups.

You can register for free on the LETS forum - https://www.letsf.co.uk/
Someone on that site should be able to tell you what groups are in your area and how to contact them.

Remember that LETS groups are all run by volunteers so they won't always be as efficient as a commercial company.

Thanks, I had looked at that site but presumed it was for Falmouth...also the on site registration is disabled and its all a bit of a faff. Well aware that its volunteer...not likely to be government funded as they dont get tax revune og exchange...sure they will find a way though.

I used to belong to the Reading LETS group, and found it very useful, so good luck with hooking up with your local group.
