Hello,
Does anybody know off hand who does 5x multiples? with a good rate? the mortgage would just be based on my husbands wages.
Prob we would put down either 10% or 15% deposit
Or am I dreaming again?
Abbey said that they would only lend 4.1 as we have a family...
Thank you in advace.

I can't recommend a particular lender, but why not spend a while checking the tools on https://www.moneyfacts.co.uk. In particular there is a "how much can I borrow" calculator at http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/mortgages/calculators/borrow.asp
Whilst some lenders multiples are given as 3, 3.5, 4.1 etc, there appear to be many who return "based on borrowers ability to pay". Maybe you could make a list of these (there are a few!) and then play around with the providers own website calculators.0 -
If your credit score is high, Northern Rock are likely to throw money at you.
Good luck overreaching in these uncertain times.
I wouldn't do it, but if you're relaxed about it - knock yourself out.0 -
Thanks for the advise, I will check out moneyfacts.
As for over reaching,I have no intention of doing that, 5 times dh wage, will give us a repayment of little more than we are currently paying as shared owership owners paying rent and mortgage.
But I understand your point totally.
Thanks.
