Another demotivator

When I worked (in a very nasty, stressful job) I used to keep my self on the straight & narrow by working out how many hours/minutes I had to work to buy stuff.

For example: if I fancied a new top it would work out to the equivalent of 3 hours in a s***hole being sworn at & stuff (yes, my job was that bad)

It worked everytime.

Anyone else got any tips?

  • Yes, I do this! As soon as I started my first part-time/summer job, rather than just getting an allowance from my parents, I suddenly realised that something costing a fiver equated to an hour's work, which definitely made me consider frivolous purchases in a new light!
