Sainsburys Homewares Bargains (merged threads)

I popped into the Sainsburys in town today and managed to pick up a nice stainless steel spaghetti server and a stainless steel slotted sterving spoon for 9p each! They also had grapefruit knives for 5p each. I am not sure how many will be left as I got the last spoons in mine but I am sure its worth a look. They were on the end of the kitchen isle and I think they were being sold off cheap as they have changed the style a bit.

Happy Hunting!!!!!

Don't you find that stainless steel spaghetti is hard to chew though?

And grapefruit knives are next to useless, they cut nothing. Give me an old fashioned metal knife any day.

    Sorry - drunk too much.
  • No I find that it provides me and my family with all the minerals and iron that we need to stay fit and healthy! Tee hee, I had been a little worried about the HUGE dentists bills thought, that would explain it then!! :-)

I had already mentioned some of these bargains a few weeks ago as someone was looking for a cheap apple corer. They were going to buy one from lakeland for about £9.00 until I mentioned sainsburys had them for 49p - now they are actually 9p!!! Also melon ballers and lemon zesters are all 9p!! :T

My local store ( Derby peak park)has Rexel strip cut shredders for sale at £4.99. I snapped one up and put it use as soon as I got home( so I could return it if unsuitable) I was very impressed. It has a forward and reverse switch obviously- but also an in-between mode which starts shredding when paper is inserted - very impressive for my 5 year old granddaughter.
Not bad for less than a fiver.

I think this is a national thing, my local store (bournemouth castlepoint) had the space for them, but obviously so popular they have all gone, apparently they are geting more in though.
  • I have a big savacentre near me - let's hope the deals are there too! Anything I should look out for in particular? Like how do you know which ones are reduced?
  • If something is reduced to clear the price label will be black with the writing in white, the opposite of the normal labels, HTH.
