I paid by Visa debit, so expected to be only charged £1 each way, but they charged me the credit card fee of £3 each way...12.00 GBP Passenger Fee: CC
Has this happened to anyone else? I don't understand how they can charge the credit card fee when I paid by debit card and selected Visa debit from the drop down menu.
Any help would be very much appreciated! What have I done wrong?
  • When i booked there wasnt a visa debit on the drop down list so i selected delta instead because the other one was visa credit... I was only charged the £1 fee for this. It was a couple of months ago though so this may have changed. Maybe an email to customer services? did it come up as £12 when you pressed confirm? sorry im not much help

Yes, they introduced fees for paying by anything other than delta
Visa Debit card was £3 each way per person, mastercard was something silly like £6 each way - this was back in Feb for flights in March

Joked on the flight going that the safety instructions on the seat back in front of you should read "in the event of landing at sea, a life vest will be supplied...at a cost of £30 unless pre-booked online". :D

    Thanks for your help :)

I didn't even think delta existed anymore. I thought they were all replaced by Visa Debit. It wouldn't surprise me if Ryanair only let you off the high fees, if you used a card that no longer exists!
They only told us about the extra £12 in the confirmation email. When we booked, it said 4p. I was sure they couldn't charge you for things and only tell you about it after you've paid, but they seem to have done. Unless it was written it tiny tiny writing.

I have just bouht cheap flights with them and got charged for a Visa Debit card total of £4. This was one pound per person per trip (two of us on return trip = £4......) I think it is a rip off as we only did one transaction !!!!!
