Increasing ethanol mix in petrol engines

Hi, has anyone had any experience in increasing the ethanol mix in a petrol engine? I know modern petrols now include 5% ethanol, but i was wondering if you could source ethanol yourself, how much it costs, what mixture is best to use (or even 100% ethanol!).

A lot of people on here have used cooking oil in diesel, but I havent heard of anyone brave enough to try ethanol in a petrol engine (yet!). I have a one litre 12 year old nissan micra ready to try it on.

Sorry to say this, but the whole ethanol thing is yet another "eco-gimmick" dreamt up politicians on the make and designed to make the electorate think they actually know what they are doing.

Apart from the debate over whether growing edible food crops to turn into 4 star is sensible there are growing concerns about health hazards from ethanol and similar fuels.
