Can you Re-Use Facial Wipes....

Options
Hi all, just got my recycling head on at the moment. I use Botanics facial wipes and sometimes the Nivea ones if they are on special offer. I just wondered if they could be recycled and used again. Could they be washed and soaked in something to make them wet again and then re-used to remove your make-up?
Has anyone ever tried it or do they do it already. I wondered if they would go in the washing machine or do they break up?
Cheers everyone.

I wouldn't reuse them for your face, but I keep a pile of them on my desk and reuse them for spillages and stuff.

I'm always eating at my computer.

You could try cutting them in half before using them - they would last twice as long?

I used to sometimes find the odd bum wipe in the wash after I had done a load of nappies. Clean but shriveled up to nothing and they are similar construction to face wipes so I'm not sure they would be usable after a wash.

Have you tried a nivea or Botanics cleanser and useing natural muslin in place of the wipes. A top line face care range available on QVC sells the cloths as part of its routine but it is much cheaper to buy a bit of muslin from a fabric shop and cut it into face cloth sized squares. Much cheaper in the long run than wipes, can be washed for years (we are using some cloths we have had for 10 years) and don't add to the landfill problem. HTH

I use face wipes when travelling. I always cut them in half - I find that half is enought to thoroughly clean away make-up and dirt.

that makes them last twice as long, as elona suggested.

  • When I have finnished wiping me I then go on to wipe around the wash basin or whatever! BTW I am using cheapies from either Aldi or Lidle, can't remember which, and IMO they are just as good as the moe expensive ones [I don't use heavy makeup though] Tesco also do a Value pack but I haven't tried them yet, let me know if you have.
Oh, and baby wipes work too, but I find they dry out before I have finnished the pack.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but found this through the MSE weekly email. I find my facial wipes miraculously good at cleaning my glass mousemat, the keyboard, and the screen. All that dirt!!!
  • I agree.

The Poundshop is a good source of facial wipes for this type of cleaning job.
