When to start looking for remortgage deals?

Hi
Our 2 year fixed deal runs out in December, but I just wanted to know when you can get a bank to give you a new deal. For example, can I go to them in June and say I want a specific deal they have at that time, but I want it to start in December? Or can I only apply for a deal 2 months in advance?
Also my (Taiwanese) wife will apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in June. Will her wages be able to count towards our mortgage or does she need citizenship?
Many thanks in advance,
David
PS. Apologies if these questions have been asnwered before - just point me in the right direction if they have!

Once your wife has the Indefinite Leave she can be added to the mortgage.
You can apply 3 months before. Used to be longer but with the credit crunch the funds are limited and they dont like to secure something for so long.
I would start looking and comparing 2 months before to give enough time if you were to move to another lender.0 -
Thanks a lot for that info - hopefully my wife will get the Indefinite Leave confirmed before we apply for a mortgage!
