Buying online - Question regarding terms and conditions

I recently ordered an item online. Prior to the purchase I read the terms and conditions on the website.
I then ordered an item and paid the premium fee of almost £50 to have it delivered within 4 business days.
It has now been well over a week and I called asking where the item was an stated that I would like the difference between the standard delivery and the premium delivery refunded (its around £30).
I was told that in another set of terms and conditions it stated that in certain circumstances it would take an addition 7 days for processing.
I was told I had agreed to these terms and conditons when I purchased the item - Apparently there was another set of terms and conditions I should have read!!
Just wanted to know where I stand on this. How many different sets of terms and conditions can there be????? I was under the impression that I had read them but apparently I had read the wrong ones. I found it very misleading.

I think they are 2 separate conditions. One for the order processing and the other for delivery.Maybe check when its delivered what service the company used and if in fact it was an express delivery option that was used and not a 'bog standard' option. If they used the latter then I think you can ask for a refund of the difference.0
