If The Abbey have debited the survey fee from my account, does it mean that my mortgage has been approved?
I've just tried to call them but their computer system is down.

Usually they only instruct the valuation once they've undewritten the mortgage so yes you should be OK. Ring them if you are in doubt.0

Yeah Andy should be spot on, they have started to fully underwrite before taking the fee.
