I queried a plumber's invoice 3 1/2 years ago - they're now chasing me for payment!

Voyager, they are asking for the amount he has agreed to pay. Therefore they have resolved the issue & are now requesting payment. The OP needs to pay the amount agreed.0

In my view, you are at least morally and legally obliged to pay at least the estimated amount, which you accepted, although i wouldn't be totally shocked if they sought a higher amount in view of the time that has since elapsed (ie inflation) and your failure to make any payments at all since the completion of the work.'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it....for much longer!'0

Seems they're not the only ones..... They are asking for the amount the OP agreed to pay them, NOT the original amount..
If they were asking for the higher amount, i would of course challenge again, however as they're not its a no brainer imo, pay up. :beer:0 -
Nothing. I am prepared to pay an amount, but is it fair that they've left it so long to query? I assume they've had some sort of audit?? I had all the information on my desk for two years and then filed it as I hadn't had a reply for so long (not even an acknowedgement) - thought I'd got away with not paying at all.....
NOT paying them what you owe them is the unfair part of this ! You thought you'd get away without paying anything !! You have a legal responsibility to pay the £549.48 which you agreed to at the time. The company have 6 years to request payment before it lawfully becomes statute barred. They are well within their rights to start legal proceedings against you if you do not pay.0 -
