    Thanks for all your replies so far.So Tidler if my mortgage interest is applied on the 1st of every month, the best day in May to make an overpayment would be on the 31st or would it be the 1st?

    I would guess the 1st but it is only a guess.

    It may be worth speaking to the lender - it may surprise you that they can be quite helpful on such matters

    Ok thanks I will do. Penelope P I got that calculator wroking yesterday but now just gives me an error.Looked real handy though.
