I am currently in a joint motgage. I really want to remortgage at the end of the year but I also would like to take the 2nd person of the mortage. To make it a single mortgage is it just a case of the mortgage company agreeing to this or is there quite a bit of legal work involved ?
thanks

Well, they need to agree that you can manage the mortgage on your own. There will be fees involved. so check your T&C's and fees document or just call up the lender and ask.
The main stumbling block could be that your income might not be enough to support the mortgage especially if the second persons income was required for you to get the mortgage in the first place and you have not had a huge pay rise to cover that. Even if you paid it all by yourself and managed, they might not care or want a full breakdown of all your outgoings and income.0
