child support

hi
i would like anyone from child support to answear some questions.
my husband has worked all his life and never been on benefit.
he left his wife as she was violent towards him only not the children he had too,he didnt have an affair or do anything wrong.his children have stayed with her as they are at school doing exams.
we live a long way and we have the children for the holidays which is great but my husband earns a low wage and we cannot claim any benefit as his wage is £201 a week. we get £5 87p working tax credit thats all.the child support have been taking £85 a week off us as this the arrears they say we owed which we didnt know.this is coming to an end this week we have been paying this for five weeks now. we now have to pay £42 a week. my husbands wage will be £150 which is still below the poverty line.we are behind with our rent and council tax as we get £127 a week plus the working tax credit.can someone tell us how we are supposed to live on this.we have bills to pay and food to eat as well.
my daughter who is 20 is at college and she trys to help us but she doesnt get much and we shouldnt be asking her in the first place.
iam looking for a job but so far i have found nothing.
we are on the breadline and no one gives a dam.
how are we supposed to take the kids out when they come up they are teenagers by the way and like to go out and do things. how are we supposed to pay for them to come up and take them out.
people like my husband have no choice but to pay and he wants to pay but he can only pay what he can afford and this amount we cant.
the house is a council house we have missed two payments of the rent and one month council tax we could get thrown out of our house but do they care no they just take ur money and leave us with nothing.we have no life we dont drink we dont smoke and we dont go out either.we stay in and pay child support.my husband is thinking of leaving his job he works very hard and its not an office job.he thinks why work for £127 its nothing and i agree.
I know what you are going throught its exactly the same for my partner and myself. I was made redundant 3 years ago and have not worked since, cannot claim any benefits because partner was earning too much, now the wonderful CSA want £81 per week out of his wages so we will only have £143 to live on. I've told partner to phone CSA and tell them this is not possible for us, we will be homeless then where will the kids go to see us??PinkPunkBird

hi
i know its crazy i even wrote to watchdog see if they can do anything but i doubt it.i also started a petition to the goverment about the csa been fairer on people on low wages.so if you would like to sign it and maybe we could get a lot of people to sign it and see what happens.let me know what you think ok.0 -
the varation is no good but thanks for telling me0

Have you checked on the csa website that the amount you are paying is correct? How many children does he have? as this bumps the maintaince up. The website has a calucator which you put in all relevent info and they tell you how much roughly you would have to pay. If this is alot different then you need to contact them and dont be fobbed off which your current payments are correct as the csa make many many many mistakes. good luck.0

hiya nat
i would like to know what happened to you if you dont mind telling me.
we were going to fill in the form for the varation but decieded against it as the form would go to his ex and as she was violent to him before and he didnt want to have any contact with her even if we could get some money with travelling expenses he just wants nothing more to do with her.she even told the kids they dont have a father anymore but the girls are 18 and 20 and they stay in contact with him and come up sometimes and the boys age 16 and 14 come up and see us in the holidays.he is a great dad and a great husband.
sorry bout spelling lol0 -
hi scooby
he has four kids but two are 18 and 20 which we dont pay for and i did go the website and it said £44 a week which we are paying now.
what we need to know though is his son left school last week and is not at college he is looking for a job but do we still have to pay the £44 till september or not as we have been told we do have too.
thank you0 -
Yes you would, unless he got a job for more than 24 hours a week.0

hi
so if he got a job in july working 40 hrs a week then the payments would stop?
how long would it take by the csa to change the payments to £20 a week?
thanks0
