Cheque Cashing Creditors

Hi, ill keep this as brief yet detailed as i can. I have recently started negotiating with my creditors to start making payments on the overdue debts. However my dilemma is this :

I owe a cheque cashing company £500 for cheques that my bank bounced. This debt is now nearly 2 years old. My friend told me that the crditors for such a debt will not accept a "pro rata" payment , yet my other creditors seem to be doing so. Is my friend correct that they will reject an offer of payment and demand the full amount immediately?

Any help that can be offered is greatly appreciated.

Thank you:o
