I'm wondering how on earth that's any of his business but your husband could just give him copies of his P60's and/or P45's for the last 5 years. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

hes wrote to the inland revenue for a statement of earnings, will it be alot of p60s or 1 piece of paper0

Your husband should have kept his P60s? I've never heard of HMRC offering anyone a statement of what they've earned - except as part of an assessment.
If he hasn't kept his P60s ..... he will need to write to his previous employer(s).If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
It'll be all on one letter from HMRC. He'd be better off to call, it'll happen quicker for him.
Must be him that rings though.0 -

HMRC don't issue P60's or P45's only employers do that but they can provide a letter detailing pay and tax for various employments that's providing they actually have those details. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Is your husband a foreign national? Some employers want proof that their new employee is registered with HMRC, ie that they are legally allowed to work in the UK.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

In 26 years at HMRC I never came across such a request. You shouldnt have to show your previous earnings to your employer - I can't think why they would want to know.
Registration with HMRC does not prove your right to work in the UK - he could have been employed illegally. A passport, NI No, work permit, etc are proof of right to work - there is a whole list of things.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
