Got it today, must be last on the list :T

I wonder what will happen to interest rates early next year, do you think they will start going back up?

It's looking extremely unlikely to go up before the second half of the year. I've said elsewhere on the boards we are about 6 months - 1 year behind the States, so my crystal ball prediction is that come June we are looking at a BoE base rate of less than 1% or even ZERO.

There's been a few posts indicating that this may happen but has anyone's mortgage reverted to the 'flexible mortgage' (BOE+ 0.9) following their fixed term where their Ts&Cs stated that it would go onto the SVR.

Jett, I'll let you know next Monday/Tuesday as our fixed rate ends then. Our variable rate sub-account is showing a rate of 2.89% so fingers crossed...
  • Hi all,

Googled ING Direct tracker mortgages to find if there were any discussion fora out there related to the uncollared 0.89% above base deal - and here you are - and here I am!

Interesting to hear most people have had their 1st Jan letters as I haven't yet. Anyone else similarly delayed?

Didn't get mine till the 30th December. I would have thought you should have received it by now, might be worth giving them a ring.

Heard on the radio this morning that there's likely going to be another 0.5% - 1% cut today. How much lower is this going to go? It's good for my mortgage but not for my savings.

It wouldn't surprise me if it dropped another .5% next month to bring it down to 1%.

Not a problem for you, unless you're in the enviable position of having savings > mortgage.
