Credit Card... advice if you can?

yesterday my on-line creditcard account said I had a pending transaction of 1.00.
I know I haven't used the card.
Today there was no charge and no more pending transaction.
I called Barclaycard to ask what this was about and they said not to worry
'sometimes internet companies do this to check to see if the card is still active, but no charge is ever taken'.
I don't think this is a good enough answer, I think the guy on the phone sounds bored, kept me holding to get money from my call and didn't 'ask for advice' as he said he was going to.
What do you think?
Should I call back and speak to someone new?
thanks,
LP

Try phoning back again, you might find a more helpfull person on the end of the phoneline. From my experience the level of helpfulness can vary dramatically from one tele person to the next. At the end of the day they work in a call centre, and you may have spoke to someone who really cant be arsed in their job and couldn't give a hoot.0
