ALDI from the 24th April are selling an Ice Cream maker for £17.99.
They say it also does Sorbets and Frozen Smoothies.
It is being sold under the make of Delta. Is it any good?
Is it going to be worth the money?

The unit comes with a 3 year warantee. I think it is 1 year return to store, 2 years contact manufacturer.
I think it is one of the freeze a large bowl for a while, add ingedients, and leave it to mix for 20-30 minutes for ice cream good price.

i bought this and have tried it but without much luck.... the chilled custard mix does not turn into ice cream, just very cold thick custard and the machine conks out after 30 mins, any advice anyone???Everything in life is a paradox. The more you want approval, the more you become a person that other people don't want to approve of, the less you care about whether you get approval, the more you get.:A0

I too am interested in purchasing a ice cream maker and have done a small amount of research. This evening I read the Which Report on them and they were very complimentary about the freezer type onee as they make ready to eat ice cream in 25 mins. Although it does take up quite a lot of cupboard/worktop space and some weigh 12kg. They were not uncomplimentary about the ones that go in the freezer, you just need to be more organised. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself if you are going to get £300 worth of use out of it vs £35. The article was 3 years old, but they are currently re-testing with a new report out shortly. Another good research is to look at customer reviews on Amazon, they tend to speak their mind, good or bad.
I hope that helps a bit.

I bought the Aldi one last year and also had problems only used it about 4 times and I think it burnt itself out and just stopped working. We took it back, thats the good thing about Aldi - their warranty on stuff
