firstly dont panic! give your council a ring and make an arrangement to pay!
for reference i was served a court summons last june. since then phoned the council several times with different plans.... basically paid a bit then broke the arrangement... got a letter... phoned and paid a bit more then broke the arrangement etc etc....
finally the local council gave up on me and passed me to bailiffs! you have to act quick now but... spoke to the guy over the phone for about 15 mins and agreed a plan on the basis that if i dont fulfil this time he can take the car. met him outside a petrol garage to sign the paperwork so he didnt ever come to the house.that was in january. he took a payment immediately and agreed the balance over 6 months!
so now the debt is being paid off and i treat it as high priority as i cant afford to lose my car! certainly focuses the mind and i would rather not have to pay it but at least i dont have to worry about it!:confused:0
