25% Paid Off - Hobsch's DF Diary
Hobsch
I had attempted to post a Diary before but had never kept it up. Had kept my debts a secret from GF but finally came clean. Things are still ok, told I was silly for not saying anything before etc etc. As she pointed out though I have paid 25% of the debt off so I have done well so far.
So inspired by the brilliant Diaries I have been going through over the last few days I will TRY to keep a record of my progress as I try to clear this debt off.
Sorry for boring post - but have to start somewhere.
Situation at present is 6 creditors - £24,603.27 total.
Lowell Financial (Creation JJB Store Card) - £326.76
Capital One CC - £908.07
MBNA Loan - £1887.76
Barclaycard - £3122.09
Moorcroft DCA (Toss Pots - Egg Loan) - £6192.00
Barclayloan - £12166.59
I am on a self managed repayment plan and there is no interest on any of these. Originally had 9 creditors - 3 paid off.
I know that I have got to sort things out quicker so am going to try my best to make extra money, stop spending as much etc etc.
Thanks

25% paid off is good, well done you. :T
I'm glad GF has stuck by you,and is going to support you on your journey out of debt.
If you need any advice just ask, and it'll be given to you (but you know that already as you've been here a while! ).0 -
Thanks - I know how helpful this 'community' is and how encouraging people are. I want to be out of this debt as quickly as possible - as I am sure everyone does with theirs. I just know I can do more. Hopefully this will keep me on target.Total Debt now £22,525.07 Start Debt £32,732.36

DAY 1 - WEDS 23rd APRIL
This was the day when I said I was going to start the diary on MSE and try to keep a record of everything that I was doing and try to inspire me to achieve a quicker DF date.
Not sure if it was because I was thinking too much about the debt or because I was thinking of the money paid off so far and what that could have been used for but had an awful sleepless night - lots of strange dreams - all relating to debt.Total Debt now £22,525.07 Start Debt £32,732.36

DAY 2 - THURS 24th APRIL
Not much in the way of money saving today as had to have a haircut and that was £10.90 plus I left a £1 tip. I always have done - I know maybe I shouldnt as I am trying to clear debt etc.
I did however win the mini-raffle we do at Football - £1 entry and I won the tenner so not too bad in the end. Nothing else to report.Total Debt now £22,525.07 Start Debt £32,732.36

I know for sure that if it were not for my own diary, I would have lost the plot yonks ago.
Ok, so maybe I have still lost the plot, but debtwise, I have managed to pay off more since I joined MSE and started my diary than I would otherwise have done, for sure!
I am sure you will get the same sort of "support". Having to "confess" spending etc to our diaries is a surefire way of thinking about what we are doing!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
