New Mortgage Products

If the BOE interest rates change do mortgage lenders always alter their products?

and if they do how soon after a change in interest rates should I see new products?

Comments

  • No, in fact, many of them fail to reduce their rates at all and even those that do do not pass on the full fall

It is difficult to say when new products might appear but reading the Times today, they were suggesting that the next movement in fixed rates might be up not down, so there can be a dis-connect between mortgage rates and the BOE

That is one reason when I like my base rate tracker mortgage

My life time tracker mortgage is fixed at 0.5% above base and I happy as I do not have to worry about changing my mortgage every 2-3 years.
