Cost Effective site to buy quality wines - www.eurovine.de/

CHEAP QUALITY WINE! - Example Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2001 Cantina di Montalcino - 12 bottles for approx £170 delivered

Thought I'd take the chance to share this great site with you all. I'm fond of my wine and the above is a typical example of the bargains to be found on this site. The price above might seem steep, but with wine you pay for what you get and the best prices I could see for this from a UK supplier was £282.66 for 12 bottles. There is a fine wine shop near me that sells it off the shelf for £26 a bottle. Eurovine currently have it reduced from 22,56 EUR to 16,40 EUR.

The great thing about Eurovine is that you can mix and match your case and the most they ever seem to charge is 17 Euro delivery to the UK via UPS.
You can get much cheaper combos and there is a huge variety on offer from a selection of European countries. I've been using them for about a year now and have found their service first class. Thought long and hard about whether I wanted to share this site with anyone else as its my little secret, but hey I've benefitted enough from this forum so time I gave something back!

Enjoy!

Fair enough if you think this is a bargain but the whole I thought long and hard before sharing is completely over the top.
    Nice to save.

They currently have a great offer on an Italian red which I posted on the Grabbit Board (but got a decidedly lukewarm response!)

    Enjoy!

Probably overlooked something, but this wine place is all in German? Did not see how to convert to English, or £.

You should see a union jack in the top right corner - just click on this to convert to English version. You need to do your own conversion to £. Try the link below

....., but with wine you pay for what you get....

With wine (as with most things) you pay the price that the market will bear. Do you really think that the managers in a wine shop sit down and calculate their wine prices based solely on their perception of its quality? You can't have been a MSE for long!

There's a HUGE difference in quality of wine between bottles of the same price in any wine shop that I've been in. It's entirely up to the value-conscious consumer to establish for themselves which bottles offer the best price/quality ratio.

Every stage of production and handling adds costs which set the final retail price - managers in a wine shop are only part of the process. Of course it boils down to what the market will bear. I didn't say otherwise - you took half a sentence out of context. My point is that with fine wine you are paying for those costs and more investment in production is a fair indicator of a quality product. This was on top of my personal recommendation of the above wine, which at this price represents a good QPR - in my opinion.

All this aside I started this thread to recommend the site to others, as overall I find it much cheaper to buy my favourite wines from Eurovine. I've been using MSE for a mere couple of years, but I thought that was the point!
