It does. Sounds like you have finally made them take notice though.

Just another update.
Still no response from Avon. I have decided to issue a follow up letter. The first letter i issues was signed for on 28th April 2008 and really I think they have had sufficient time to respond.
The experian report i recieved showed no trace of the default in early may, however I am not happy with the fact they can add a default with no warning then remove it when I complained yet without addressing my complaint. Without regularly obtaining my report i have no way of knowing if they put it back on or even if they have also removed the 'default' with equifax/call credit if they also use them.
To be honest the more i think about it the more angry I get. I really feel they should at the very least apologise and give me an explanation.
I really feel that an employee of the company concerned has incorrectly traced a bad debtor to my home address and has manufactured a supposed credit agreement around those details.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Just doing a bit of spring cleaning of my previous posts.
The Avon saga is still continuing. Despite my best efforts, including 8 recorded delivery letters I have still not received anything close to an explanation from Avon. Each letter i write is answered with a standard letter saying they look forward to receiving payments and enclosing the application form thingy.
The default has once again been added to my credit file.
Letters to Avon's data protection controller are replied to with a standard we have referred this to the relevant department letter.
I have once again complained to experian and they have been fantastic but apart from once again stating the default must stand then have ignored experians' other contacts to them. I now have a lovely experian case worker to help me and they have copies of my marriage cert, solicitors completion letter and also a copy of my old canceled passport in my maiden name showing my maiden signature.
It is just all such a nightmare.
Does anyone have any idea who would regulate such a thing so I could complain there?MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

The Information Commissioner.
Sounds as if you need to put in a formal complaint to them.

Just another update.
After taking Fermi's advice I complained to the ICO. Today I received their response saying they have instructed Avon to remove the 'default' from my record. This very evening Avoon deemed to call me and have said it will be removed next time they update files which will be july now and will be putting it in writting along with a full explanation of what happened.
I think this saga may now be over.
Thank you so much to everyone for their help especially Fermi.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000

Thanks for the update, it's great to hear perseverance worked. Don't let Avon get away with updating the files in July. Again ask the Information Commisioner to intervene - they should remove the default immediately as it is affecting your credit record.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
