Mortgage Loan Agreement "Mislaid"....

I have had my mortgage now for almost 9 months. Yesterday I received a letter from my mortgage company (Cheltenham & Gloucester) saying;
I am pleased to enclose a duplicate customer copy of the C&G Loan Agreement for the mortgage **********
This offer has been produced due too the original being mislaid.
I am a little concerned by this letter and the fact my personal details have been "mislaid".
I am not exactly sure how I should proceed, should I sign the agreement and forget about it or delve further into the matter?
Thanks

I don't know the legal ins and out of C&G mortgages, but the legal commitment for most companies mortgages comes with the signing of the Mortgage Deed. Without a signed one of these the solicitor would not be able to complete the mortgage.
Personally I wouldn't sign or return it.
Does the amount, interest rate, payments etc agree with the mortgage you took out?
I would be very careful as it could be a scam (or a sign that someone may have applied for a loan in your name!)
If you are concerned, I would take it into a branch of C&G to get it checked out.0 -
Thanks for your reply. All the details tie up to the original except the last payment date which is 1 month less than the original.
I dont think I will be signing anything until I am 100% sure what has happened.0
