Have you ever tried copying a good old favourite

Like a Mcvitties chocolate digestive/ Heinz baked beans :confused: How did yours compare to the well know brands.

    Lots of Old Stylers make their own versions of things but you'd need to search the items individually to see what they thought of the results. Try these threads:

    I made Custard Creams once, following the recipe in Nigella Lawson's Feast (this blog has a bit of detail on them: http://sarah-cooks.blogspot.com/2005/02/custard-cream-hearts.html). They turned out nicer than bought biscuits - more buttery and crumbly, but a bit too much hassle for an everyday biscuit; I prefer cookies!

  • i did baked beans were not good for on toast but perfect to go in to a meal like with sausages or cottage pie etc

    My mum used to make fab Kenntucky Fried chicken taste-a-likee. It didn't stay on the plate long!

    Oh - and Twinks Hobnobs are THE BEST. They disappear very quickly though..!
