It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Welcome back - Just don't go away again, stick around & we'll keep you on the straight & narrow;)

  • Hey guys thanks for the ticking offs!!!! My SOA will follow asap!!!! I just need to find a minute to get it done I am having a week of hell at my day job and have not had one second to myself!!!

I did a quick tot up last week and I figured out I could have my credit card debt paid off (approx I couldnt account for the interest obviously) in 6 months if I can pay a total of £400 per month between them all. With my class earnings this should be even easier. Especially as I have just got another two, I believe that is 12 now!!! Am buzzing right now - I love my extra job more than my day job lol!

I still have loans outside of this credit card debt but they are fixed payments so they aren't my focus for my "debt free date" at the moment but I will include them in my SOA so you can see what is going out etc.

What are the latest challenges going on then? I fancy getting myself stuck into a good one!

    Hi again,

You can get off the naughty step now! :D

You sound as though you've got things pretty much under control, or will have in a very short time, wish I could say that although I too am getting there rapidly. I'm not at all surprised you love the second job, great for you!

Challenges...mmm. Well, the Marathon's just gone, but you, with your fitness, could enter for the "Race for Life" area runs that are soon to be held, we've got a thread going about it. Depends what sort of challenge you're looking for. If it's of the energetic type then try the "DFW running club" thread.

Cash wise, see my signature about the "Sealed Pot Challenge" and get saving all your spare cash, or change left over after shopping and put it away and save it up for Christmas, holiday, whatever you wish that's beneficial to you, just don't spend out on a piggy bank or pot of any kind, look around the house for ideas. One of us has a Cadbury's Smash pot and I'm using a Cadbury's drinking chocolate tub and have already saved quite a bit, it soon mounts up, so give it a go. I'll give any others a thought, but let us know what type you're looking for.

Good to see you back and don't forget that SOA!!!

  • Aw thanks guys! - I'm looking for a financial challenge rather than fitness related. My real problem is meals at work etc. I get bored, I eat, I've also not been feeling too well lately and I keep wasting food - ie I buy something, start eating it and it makes me feel sick so I throw it away. Not sure what to do about that.

    Ok SOA below

    Balances on Credit Cards:
    Halifax Visa - £666.18
    Barclaycard - £643.17
    Capital One - £508.72
    Argos Card - £159.99

Monthly expenses - I earn about £1130 a month (it tends to vary slightly by about £8 each way)

    Tv licence - £3.33
    Internet - £7.66
    Water - £8.03
    Tenants Insurance - £3.50
    Rent - £133.33
    Council tax - £29.33
    Various phone bills - £85 (I have two contracts - I know I know!!!!!!)
Gym membership - £18 (unfortunately they wont let me have it for free even though I work for them =( I've tried asking)
Fuel per month - £100 approx (this is crippling me I am getting barely any fuel for this money now I used to only need around £50-60 a month)
Loans (there are 2 in my mums name and I pay her one amount a month) £347.68
    Car Insurance - £65.71
    Total = 801.57

Obviously I then have to pay some money to my credit cards after this.

I dont budget for food really as I have no idea what to allow - I tend to try get mum to feed me or just buy when I can afford to eat - I usually just buy cereals and eat them because I cant really afford anything else - especially with the whole waste thing I mentioned above.

Ok so there it is - do your worst!!!!!

well Nikki I think its is a understandable time to be in Debt, in other words its pretty hard not to be in some type of Debt, cost of foods gone up... ele/gas prices shot up aswell in the last 3 months, petrol prices up up up etc etc etc,

    Balances on Credit Cards:
    Halifax Visa - £666.18
    Barclaycard - £643.17
    Capital One - £508.72
    Argos Card - £159.99

    Are these cards 0% ?

    Various phone bills - £85 (I have two contracts - I know I know!!!!!!)
details on these ..number of mins xnet etc? when do they end ?
  • Hello!

Um none of the cards are 0%. Halifax is on 6.something % for 6 months, the rest are all full whack I'm afraid! I'm not sure I'd be approved for another one

Phone bills - not sure when they end. My orange one is £35 a month but because I use it for my business it is more often than not way over that. I get unlimited texts and about 500 mins. The o2 one is again £35 a month - not sure what you get for that but I haven't had it over nine months yet to put that to the lowest tariff. I got it in Jan so I'm guessing October??? And subsequently that should end around June next year I believe.

Cant get rid of the orange one when thats up either (end of year) as its my business number.
