The letter Picture have sent to the solicitors, lists as required 'New valuation from mortgage provider'. From that I assume they will except the valuation the mortgage lender has carried out.0

So howcan their £295 Transfer fee include a valuation? They aren't doing one. Get em told. Greedy b*%£rs.I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -
My thoughts exactly. I will give them a call tomorrow and leave a posting with the outcome. Thanks all, this has been really useful.0

I have called Picture and its a no go on the fee. They tell me they may want to do their own valuation. This could consist of someone just driving past the house! So I am going to have to pay.0

So, with all those charges you have now got to pay, was the remortgage to another lender worth it financially, or could it have been better for you to accept a good deal from the existing lender with a lot less hassle and maybe even be better off?0

My original mortgage is with Northern Rock who have quite clearly stated they cannot offer me a competative deal and even encouraged me to go elsewhere. My monthly payments have gone up by over £130.00 with Northern Rock. With the new mortgage payment combined with the fees I will have recouped my losses within 10 months.0
