Bargain of the year, in Tescos Basildon, Essex.
The above line is available half price at 39.97.
It is the new format of dual layer.
It is the same model as Argos. Argos sell it for 89.99(http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=3801&productId=148734&clickfrom=name)
Not sure if they are available at other stores.
I can now sell my single layer one on Ebay!

I got one at Tesco's Banbury for this price on Friday. It was quite strange though.
The previous evening I had been into the store and had seen the drives behind the customer service desk displaying the full price of £79.98. I remember noticing these as there were a couple in plain boxes with “please sell these first” written on them in black permanent marker. As I walked past I thought it odd that these had not been marked down so I was tempted to see if I could get one cheap but decided it wasn’t worth the hassle because I was only willing to pay about £40 and thought it unlikely to get one at this price just because of non-original packaging
Anyway, I digress. The next day on seeing this offer posted (coincidence or what?) – I went into the store to find that all of the drives had been removed from the shelf. I assumed that the staff had snapped them all up or hidden them but decided, just before leaving the store, that it was probably worth an ask, just in case there was one left somewhere. Fortunately the helpful man behind the counter found one in a locked cupboard and on scanning it told me it was £39.99. I obviously snapped it up and asked him whether he had any more at this price. He was about to start delving in the cupboard again when he decided to check the stock level instead. On doing this he started looking confused and then announced that it appeared as if the stock description didn’t quite match what he had sold and the stock level showed minus 1. I quickly made my exit thanking him profusely.
So it seems as if it was some kind of stock code error and the barcodes were bringing up the wrong items on the till – possibly the CDR drive?
Seems like quite a good drive – doesn’t support both dual layer formats though and I am starting to wonder whether I should have just bought an internal one as they seem to be dropping in price rapidly.0 -
