First of all apologies if this is the wrong place for this but I didn't know which section to put it in. Please move it if necessary.
I am looking for some impartial advice on whether I should make a will or not. I thought I would come here before going to a Solicitor (no doubt they will only say yes to make the sale) :rolleyes:
My situation is this:
I am currently a full time university student with a couple more years to do. Over the years I have saved my student loan, worked part time and been given some inheritance to build up a sizeable savings account. I did a quick tally up last night and have a total of around £35000. :cool:
If the worse were to happen to me I believe that my estate would go to my next of Kin (my mother) by default.
However I would like it to go to my brothers and sisters and not my mother (after all it would only make up part of her estate and be taxed when she pop's her clogs)
So I believe it would be a bog standard will, a list of what I've got and who I'd like to get what.
Is it worth making a will or could my estates automatically be passed to my brothers and sisters if I just tell me mum that's what I want (she would honour my request)
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

No if you want your brothers and sisters to inherit your estate then you need to make a will.
Things to consider:
If one of your siblings were to die, gawd forbid, before you would want the estate to be divided between the surviving siblings or would you want the share that would have gone to the deceased sibling inherited by their children
Might also want to consider including instructions on what type of funeral, music etc you want.2014 Target;
