Might be worth posting up another thread for this PPI query seperately.
As you have never received the PPI details and STILL don't know what is covered, i'd try to get as much info as possible - possibly also ask CAB. I think to cancel the PPI on an existing loan, you would need to get another credit check - which you say is not a good idea right now, but you have basically paid for this protection and it looks like you would have been able to make use of it as you became ill after taking out the loan.
Not sure how much of a difference it will make, but definately worth persuing.
I will look into that....Thanks0 -
I cancelled my PPI with Welcome, all you have to do is send in a letter stating that you wish to cancel the payment protection insurance and its all sorted really easily. Send the letter to your local office.
Did you send your CCA request by recorded? Have you checked they recieved it? Has it passed 12+2 days yet?0 -

Have a read here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance and also send a letter cancelling the PPI. You will need to reclaim seperately I think, but double check with Martins advice in that link.0 -
Thanks so much for all the replies.
If I can, can i refer back and ask, does anyone know what rate of interest I have been paying on the loan?
Many Thanks0 -
Hard to say because of the PPI but i'm guessing it's about 28%APRAfter falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110
