Another newbie here:hello:
I'm single mum of 3 children (2 dependent), work part- time and have done since my youngest was 4. Hoping either to get more hours in present job or find another part time job to reach full time hours. Daughters are 16 and almost 14 so feel now I can commit to full time work. Approx £16,000 in debt
and on DMP with CCCs but would like to negotiate my own debt management if my financial situation improves in the coming year. Just wondered if others on the forum had any experience of self negotiation and how that went?
I'm loving reading all the threads and getting tips on how to make savings, reduce outgoings etc:T With regard to money saving vouchers in papers/magazines etc....can anyone tell me which are the best publications to look at for these vouchers?
Cheers:beer:

I have always run my own DMP and I know a few near the ends of their DMPs have swopped from CCCS or Payplan to self administered.
Basically the National Debtline is brilliant you have a payment calculator on there and various template letters you can play with.
I think if you are moving away from CCCS you need to ask them for current payment details etc but someone else will know more.0 -
:cheesy: Thanx for your reply....I will certainly have a look at National Debtline site. What I need to do is work out is if working full time will result in me earning more than I do at present with part time work and the tax credits I get. I certainly am hoping that that that will be the case?
I just feel that there is not a great deal of flexibility in DMPs and sometimes life throws you a curve ball  which means your I & E situation has to be adjusted and I would like have the freedom to handle that myself:cheesy: :hello: :jEternal Optimist:j:hello:BR 22.09.08:staradmin BSC Member 201:staradmin0 -
There is a lot more flexability when dealing with your own, you can naughtily chisel away at certain ones, either those that give you the most agro or little ones for that feeling of getting one less debt!
Obviously the down side is that the buck stops with you but you can deal with things promptly and more personally.
I am a bit of a control freak like to know everything that is happening so it works better for me doing my own.0
