Tuesday 22/04/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will:
  • Check online banking
  • Clicks
  • storecupboard lunch
  • Sort paperwork and do some shredding
  • New freezer being delivered today so can increase my batch cooking and baking:D :D
  • Will spend 25p on number for bonus ball at work rather than buy a lottery ticket for tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone.A nice clear day here today.

    Hello everyone,

Hope you feel better soon Cleosmum :(

Things are ok my end, I suppose. Trying to keep my chin up and deal with some non-DFW issues lately which is proving difficult/depressing. At least trying to get more debt free is something else to focus on!

    So today then:
    - did a breakfast mystery shop, so free breakfast and got paid for it
    - walked to MS, instead of paying for car parking near by
    - about to do some STP listening in my lunch break
    - checked online banking - c/c balance transfers and cheque I paid into current account still not gone through (annoying).
    - checked for more MS shops, but nothing still
    - [STRIKE]I should get into doing these daily clicks you all talk about, I get online most days - anyone fancy posting or PMing me some handy hints/tips to get started please? - looked at writers:share but still not back up and running with open topics
    - going to see a band play tonight = free entertainment (providing they're good :rotfl:)
    Debt - Loan: £1150 C/C: £4763 @ 0%.

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=852319 is a good thread for starters, read the first 2 posts. Then daily I type in "daily quizzes" into the forum search at the top, and it brings up the daillies that KLB kindly posts each day, and I enter the comps there. The daily quizzes are posted within the thread above, but saves trawling through pages to find them. I joined up in feb and have £7 worth of points and need £11.50 worth to redeem. I live in hope of a 2000 point win, not happened yet though....

Afternoon all, hope everyone is having a lovely day. The sun is shining so its all looking good here!

Not many dfw things for me today either, glad your feeling better cleosmum.

    Ny dfw things are:
-Must buy car insurance as it runs out today! Only use it to learn to drive in so is sitting in my driveway at the mo, so not as big a deal as it may sound.
-Bought day rider ticket so cheaper bus fare as have quite a few places to go to.
-Off to do some training tonight, all part of my big career plan.
-Off to meet up with a friend for tea, means i don't hang around doing endless shopping! Haven't seen my friend in ages so will be nice to catch up.
-Am currently using work's internet, however have technically finished work so figured i would check my emails.
-Have picked up a mystery shop and checked other mystery shopping sites.
-Will use young persons rail card to get cheaper rail ticket.
-will also go to Tesco to see if there are any items reduced.
-Got up to date with all my challenges.

    Have a good evening everyone.
