An idea if you have a hotplate is dolled up tinned soup. Baxters Beef consomme is the one I always have handy (it's not a type of soup I'd make for myself). I add various things to it: shiitake mushrooms (you can get mixed exotic mushrooms and keep them in the freezer), some green veg (frozen would be fine, but I usually use either fresh broccoli or a chinese cabbage) and some noodles (the packs done by sharwood of ready cooked noodles are good for this). If you like your noodle soup spicy, add something to spice it up. The mushrooms are also nice for making mushrooms on toast: cook them in a little butter/marg/olive oil with plenty of salt and pepper, then just put them on top of buttered toast. If you want it creamy, add a dollop of plain yoghurt or cream.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000
