Have you checked re a water meter? That looks expensive.

And have a look at the snowball on https://www.whatsthecost.com. I would suggest the unsecured 15.9% loan first. Pay the most expensive debt first.

nicola well done for posting your SOA.

Am not an expert but can you knock the satellite tv on the head? Maybe get a Freeview box instead.

I'd also say forget about the clothing allowance - make do with what you have....that can go towards your car maint and road tax.

Also shop around for cheaper car insurance visa Quidco for cashback.

Have you checked Quidco for your gas/electric?

  • quote=nicolacarr;10388607] can anyone give me advise about which debt to pay off first (explained in my first post)thanx[/quote]

I'm not an expert on this; the usual advice is to concentrate on the debt with the highest interest first.

Quote [have just done a price comparrison on my gas and elec and cant get my bills down any more any other advice. please]

Are you being economical with your gas and electricity. Just to remind you here are some of the more obvious:
    • turning down thermostats.
    • Using the washing machine and dishwasher with full loads only
    • Using lower wash temperatures and shorter wash cycles.
    • Only boil the required amount of water in the kettle.
    • Low energy light bulbs
    • Turn off 'standby mode' on equipment
There is a long thread on the forum board from last year on ways to save gas and electricity.

Are you sure a meter would be more expensive - I do at least 2 washes a day and we have a huge pond, dishwasher and the usual stuff and we pay £18 a month ....

 Gosh thats cheap, I only do one wash a day, put the dishwasher on once a day, bath once a day, have the bag things in the toliet, don't leave the tap running whilst cleaning teeth etc and my bill is £35 per month (4 living in household, and my DS doesn't touch water, he will when he discovers girls..). Water meters for the majority are not cheaper imo. My last house similar size was only £24 per month, unmetered.

Nic, are you paying arrears on your water bill..something isn't right with that amount each month. Telephone your water company and ask them if you are paying for the whole street and can they give you a break down of the cost.
