    Hi,

We use Tesco and then get Clubcard deals for Johnsons dry cleaners.

One of the better Clubcard deals I think.

Is it a specialised voucher for Johnsons you receive or is it the generic voucher you get with other going out deals as well.
I mean is it same as http://i7.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/eb/4c/165f_1.JPG

Hi, try your local little dry cleaners. I had a silk dressed cleaned in Sainsbury's, a Coast dress I'd bought brand new with the tags on for £39 from Ebay. Wore it at my wedding reception (in Sri Lanka), had it cleaned (was charged £30) and it had to be cleaned three times before they got the tiniest stain out finally.....then wore it again for my UK wedding reception, got Jack Daniels all over it, sat on the floor in it, it was really filthy....gave it to my mum to take to our local dry cleaners (a little independent one)....£7.50 and clean, yippee

And I've just bought a new washing machine that has a silk option button, so next time will wash it myself

i took my winter coat in amongst other items into morrisons today to get dry cleaned (4 items for £12 deal) and decided not to go ahead with the transaction.

the lady said to me that the buttons on my coat could possibly melt so was just letting me know beforehand
this immediately made me doubt how professional their service actually is, especially when they pre-warn you that things could go wrong just to cover their own !!!!!s, they also stated that the silk cardigan i bought could also possibly shrink , !!!!!!?!!!

these items cost me a lot of money and a clean coat with melted/no buttons would be useless to me! as for my silk cardigan, what good will it do if it it's clean but doesn't fit?!.

rant over-i feel a little better now lol, i don't think i'll be tempted by these deals anymore and just take to my local dry cleaners, pay that little bit more and know that my goods are going to come out the way they went in-obviously cleaner

they specifically told you of the risks. what are you complaining about? i'd understand rant if they didnt tell you and they damaged them, but not this case.

sorry should've stated that i'm currently 8 months pregnant with twins and was with my little toddler of 2 years old so i'm a bit hormonal, it was quite a bit to carry and i did call them beforehand and explained my situation and they stated that they could do any item with no problems, that they were a professional dry cleaners and for me to just bring the items in, i described each item-they said no problem.
There was no problem until i got there and they told me with every item there could be something wrong with the outcome-they even suggested i cut off all the buttons beforehand and then sew them all back on after, also forgot to say that with my silk cardigan, they suggested me stretching it to a larger size, so it would 'shrink' back to normal size when it was cleaned. i think it was quite reasonable for me to get a little annoyed

It was the generic voucher last time I ordered this deal
  • I gave my winter coat which was about 2 yrs old for drycleaning at Morrisons and 3 days later when I go to collect it there is a big tear in the lining material inside and the coat hem had come off through out the bottom of the coat.
The store dry cleaning manager could not take the responsibility and offer any explanation and I was passed over to the the area manager who had a look and told me that it is the wear and tear of the lining material that has caused it and also has given an observation that the material was worn out at places. Morrisons are supposed to note down any such observations before taking the coat in and they did not !! infact the drycleaning manager had a look at the book and mentioned that nothing was observed but still this is the answer I get. I would not have had an issue with using a coat with general wear and tear when it is 2 yrs old but that is not the same as a big tear in the lining
I have written/emailed Textile Services Association (TSA) in Harrow, London as Morrisons is a member of this association and I have had no response.
I have also written to the CEO office and yesterday I receive a response to the same from the Customer Services Advisor saying that no further explanation can be offered !! what do you say for this..So much for customer services from one of the leading so called Supermarkets
    Suggestions very welcome..
