Multipack Sales

Please can someone advise.
I own a burger van and currently purchase crates of drinks and boxes of chocolate etc etc ........
As I am sure most people aware you can get some very good multipack deals from supermarkets these days. I have always stayed away from these as I believed that it was illegal to sell these to the paying public. Today however I purchased a can of drink from another burger van and it clearly stated Multipack can on the side.
Is this illegal, Can it be done ??
What are your views ??
Regards

Think it can be done if it says something on the lines of "multipack can" and on the top rim of the can have a price say 45p because the seller wouldn't be making any profit beacuse the multipack would have cost 6 x the 45p to buy. Hope i made sense im tiredI heart The Capital0

Does it state on the cans that they are not to be sold separately?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

dont think joe public would be bothered, so long as the (wholesale) price isnt shown on each can..
charging say 60p for something thats marked up at 40p wont get many sales!Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
Our vending machine at work has single cans/crisps/choc from multipacks in it.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

The multipacks that have notices such as " Part of multipack, not for individual resale" are nothing more than a manufacturers notice and are not legally binding. They are there simply to try and protect the vendors selling normal retail packets/cans from being disadvantaged.0

You are right and I think the worst that could happen is the manufacturer would stop you buying from them direct. If you don't buy direct from the manufacturer then it won't affect you.
Then again, Livi's stopped the mighty Tesco selling jeans they'd bought in the far east. So maybe a manufacturer can stop you selling products they don't want you to sell.
If I was selling single cans from multipacks, from a van, I wouldn't want to go up against Coke in court. If Tesco can get dragged into court and be told not to sell something then I'd have no chance of winning.
I'd still do it, but when Coke said stop I'd say "sorry" and stop.0 -
Once you buy an item it belongs to you, how you choose to re-sell it is your business. If you purchase a multi-pack and choose to split it up and sell it then this is your business and does not concern Coke/Pepsi or any other fizzy drink producer. They cannot dicate what is done with an item once it is sold.
Should you be really concerned give Trading Standards a call and I am confident they would tell you the same."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0
