Cheap place to drink in the West End?

I know that this is probably a contradiction in terms, but I'm looking for a cheap place to drink in the West End. It's my friend's 40th birthday soon and I'm treating her. I've taken advantage of the 2 for 1 theatre ticket offer (kindly posted by one of the moneysavers) and I know a good place for a pre-theatre meal. All I need now is somewhere where I can afford to pay for the drinks...

Latenightlondon bars ( https://www.latenightlondon.co.uk )- there are about 10 of them across the West End - all have happy hours from 5pm to 7pm (or 7:30) with bottles of wine for around £6, and c0cktails at about £3.
Depending on the size of your group, and which night of the week it is, you might be able to book a table or booth, as the bars can get totally crushed especially between 6:30 and 7...
Have fun!Nice to save.0 -
Thanks for that, al_london. I've looked at the website and like the look and location of Sugar Reef.Carpe diem0

They might not be your cup of tea, and the london ones are a little more expensive than their country cousins, but weatherspoons pubs are still the best value for a cheap place to drink. (a bit souless though....)
That said, some bars do specials. One local to my work does BOGOF on bottles of beer 5-7 every day.0 -
Thanks, EvilMonkey. Probably not suitable for my friend's 40th, but I'll bear them in mind for other occasions.
Since posting above that I was happy to settle with Sugar Reef, I've read some less than complimentary online reviews for them, so I'm still looking for somewhere nice!Carpe diem0 -
