Official insert
This is for people with PSPs. If you register for a free PSP account with Sony they will send you a free UMD video of the film Spider-man 2.

For uninitiated (like I was half-an-hour ago!) UMD is a disc format Sony invented for playing movies on PSPs and it stands for Universal Media Disk.

Go to the site and click on the tiny little ‘Sign Up Now’ button on the bar at the top right.

This will be very useful for PSP owners. Well found! PS. You need to enter your PSP info, eg model number and serial number.

Also if anyone has a Japanese / USA or Korean PSP there is a chance that you can also get the free Spiderman 2 UMD just make sure you click PSP1003 as the model number which refers to the European release and make sure you put the dta of purchase as 1 September onwards in case the site recognises the PSP only came out on 1/9/05.

I have a Japanese PSP which i purchased in january and it has accepted my request and says my UMD will be despatched shortly but will have to wait and see if it arrives as hopefully with the amount of requests they may get through
  • Surely they'd know it wasn't a European release by the serial number? Just a thought....

It depends if they actually fully check the numbers as they are going to receive loads of requests for the free UMD so it may just check the database to see if it is a valid PSP serial number and you have the option to change the model number on the form.

It does no harm in trying and if it works you get a free UMD
  • Does anyone have a valid serial number for a UK supplied unit ?
