Aargh- LTSB- bit of a rant...

I'm currently in the process of changing jobs (well, working my notice period) and going from monthly to fortnightly pay. As I know this will leave me short initially I am trying to be prepared and manage my finances. I've just called LTSB to request a one month payment holiday on my loan with them, which I have had for two years and never defaulted on and it's been a mare!

Firstly they said they couldn't help me at all as my name had not been changed on the loan when I got married. The name on all my other accounts had, but not the loan.....ummm how is that my problem that LTSB have messed up changing my name?!! And not for the first time as they also messed it up on my credit card as well.

Then when I insisted on speaking to the branch, who contacted the loans centre on my behalf they have turned down the request:mad: ! I am so frustrated as I have never defaulted on any borrowing, never exceeded my overdraft etc. I do have a student overdraft with them and a credit card, but I regularly pay money into the overdraft account, and the credit card is used for my expenses for work and paid off each month.

So now I have done all I can but will really struggle next month- and the icing on the cake is that I work for LTSB, a fairly senior level! Not for much longer though- I am getting out of financial services for a proper retail job. Thank heavens!

Sorrt for the rant but I am feeling so frustrated:o !

Sorry to be the one who says this but we have had to put up with the train leaving the platform and not giving a dam who's still waiting or being run over for some years. LTSB are not the only ones but they (IMHO) are prepared to make our puppet government backtrack on legislation to suite their incompetance and poor customer ralations. Far too much 'NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY' But this credit crunch nay resession will make them and other want to keep existing customers.

Hope you feel more at ease in retail (surely out of the frying pan into the fire has retail have been in resession for 3 years?)

  • Thanks KKW- they have said I can change the dd date, but only by a week! I think I'm going to knuckle down with the eBaying to raise some extra cash, then just eat from the store cupboard/ freezer for a few weeks to save some extra pennies.

    Thanks for the replies.
