Non-specific tax help

in Cutting tax
Hi Everyone,
Im getting no help from the Inland Revenue so Im wondering if someone can advise!
My tax affairs are pretty basic. The Inland Revenue have sent me a P810T but Id prefer to submit a self-assessment online as I know its been received then - I rarely receive any confirmation from the IR themselves.
There are only three aspects of my emplyoemnt that I dont understand how to submit.
1. Business mileage.
Probably about 7000 miles in the last year (i do have exact records). I only get 18p per mile from my company. Now according to the notes for the P810T, "job expenses" are 40p per mile minus what I get from the company. Ie 22p x 7000 miles in my case. There is a box on the Online Self Assessment form for Business Travel - can I enter £1540 in there?
2. Hotels, Food etc.
When travelling on business, I have hotel bills, food bills etc. I get reimbursed for these at what they cost (with receipts) or at IR approved amounts when without receipts.
Presumably these dont need to be declared at all as they never hit my payslip or have any tax implications. Is this correct?
3. Pension contributions.
I pay into a Personal Pension, but it is one that hte company have a group sheme for a they also pay into. I understand I can claim back the higher rate tax on my contributions. Can I do this through the Onleine Self Assesment form? If so how? What information do I need to enter and where?
Many thanks
Tim

First of all, I would not get into the self assessment system unless it is actually essential. Once in, its hard to get out of and you are signing up to deadlines and penalties if you dont meet them.
Stick with the P810 and take it personally to your local tax office if you dont like Royal Mail.
1. You can claim the difference between the 18p per mile you receive and the 40p per mile allowable.
2. I expect your employer has a dispensation to not declare these, so leave them out.
3. There should be a space on the P810 to claim higher rate rellief for the pension.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
