Should I check my tax?

I leave my job next week and wondered whether I should check my tax code and whether I am paying the correct rate of tax?

Has anyone ever done this?

if your tax affairs are simple.. only one job then if the tax code is correct then its very likely that the tax will be correct... a normal tax code will be 543L (with nothing like M1 or WK1 after it).

If you're starting a new job make sure you give them the P45 so they can start yopu on the correct code otherwise you will probably be given an emergency code.
